Alesha Dixon added to the bill at boxing event
Alesha Dixon, the multi-talented singer, TV talent show judge, presenter and model is to perform at an exclusive white collar boxing event being held in London.
Alesha, 38, will entertain the audience at the Float Like A Butterfly Ball, being staged at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair, London, on Friday 6th October, 2017.
The black tie boxing and entertainment event will raise vital funds for Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.
Alesha rose to fame in the R&B and Garage girl group Mis-Teeq. Their first album Likin’ On Both Sides, released in 2001, went platinum whilst their single All I Want shot to number 2 in the chart.
In 2002 the band won a MOBO Award for Best Garage Act. During their time together Mis-Teeq secured seven Top Ten singles and produced two platinum albums before they split in 2005.
Following her title winning performance on the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, in 2007, Alesha’s career was rejuvenated. After signing a new record deal with Asylum records she recorded a succession of smash hits, in 2008 and 2009, including The Boy Does Nothing, Breath Slow and Let’s Get Excited.
Kerrie Davies, Head of Events at Caudwell children, is delighted that Alesha will be performing a selection of her hits at the event. As she explained: “She has a fantastic voice and has justifiably received BRIT and MOBO Award nominations during her career.
“As well increasing her profile throughout Europe, following the significant international success of her platinum album The Alesha Show, she’s now one of the most recognisable women in the UK.
“Appearances as a judge on several series of Strictly, sharing panellist duties with Simon Cowell on Britain’s Got Talent, and her involvement in The X Factor this year has seen her become a household favourite.”
Float Like A Butterfly Ball will feature five bouts, each consisting of two, three minute rounds, and there will also be a celebrity bout on the bill that will be announced shortly.
Steve Collins, the former World Boxing Organisation middleweight and super middleweight World Champion, will referee each bout.
“It’s going to be a fabulous night,” said Davies. “Ticket holders will enjoy a red carpet event with haute cuisine and celebrity guests. Alesha will share the bill with Amelia Lily, the former X Factor star and 2017 Celebrity Big Brother contestant, and The Overtones, Britain’s Number 1 vocal harmony group.
“With just a week left to secure a ticket I would urge people to buy now if they want to experience the best in entertainment.”
Tickets range from £300 up to £1,100 for ringside seats and access to an exclusive after-show party held in the Grosvenor House Hotel’s Red Bar.
All of the money raised from the event will be used to provide practical and emotional support for disabled children across the UK.
