Award winning restaurant to host charity curry night

An award winning Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant, in Stoke-on-Trent, is organising a charity curry night following a suggestion from one its regular diners.

The Blue Tiffin, located at 1003 Uttoxeter Road, Meir, ST3 6HE, is throwing open its doors for the charity bash on Monday 13th November, from 7:00pm onwards, to raise funds for Caudwell Children, the Staffordshire based charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.

The idea came from Natalie Brown, who is the National Hospital Manager at Caudwell Children. As she explained: “I’ve been enjoying the fantastic cuisine of the Blue Tiffin for years and it suddenly occurred to me that as the dark evenings begin to draw in, and the temperature drops, the restaurant could warm things up a little by hosting a charity curry night.

“I suggested the idea to Shaz Rahman, the owner of the restaurant, and he immediately offered to help.”

The evening is set to be a spicy affair as the Blue Tiffin is offering a quality starter and main course from their set menu for just £20.

The restaurant is highly respected having secured Best Curry Restaurant in Staffordshire in 2016, and National Best Chef in 2017, at the acclaimed Curry Life Awards, in London.

“We are happy to host the event for such a worthy cause,” said Mr Rahman. “We are aware of the lifeline that Caudwell Children gives to families who face challenging times caring for their disabled children and are happy to support the cause.”

However, Natalie says that it’s going to be much more than a simple charity curry night. She said: “There will be a host of raffle prizes, donated by local supporters and businesses, together with an auction, a brain teasing quiz and musical performances to entertain guests.”

The Blue Tiffin was established in October 2007 and quickly became popular with the local community by providing quality service and excellent food.

“It’s going to be much more of an event,” continued Natalie. “The Blue Tiffin is not just a place to eat, but a venue offering that real sense of occasion. Add to that the entertainment that we’re providing and you’ve got a truly fantastic evening.

“It’s great to see a local business supporting the charity and this is a brilliant opportunity to raise awareness of our services, locally, while raising much needed funds that will go towards supporting disabled children and their families in the area.”
