Our campaign to raise more awareness, understanding and acceptance of autism was a great success in Burnley, as Grandmother Alison Booth generated brilliant media coverage and raised over £2,500!
Regional radio stations 2BR and BBC Lancashire chartered the story of the 49-year-old, as did the Burnley Express and a number of online magazines. Ahead of the lock-in, the only concern Alison had related to her unfortunate habit of sleepwalking – as you can imagine, the thought of climbing out of bed and wandering in to the glass panels was enough to make anyone think twice about committing to the challenge! In the end, Alison survived the 50 hours unscathed.
