Fundraising Event
Thursday 26th April (evening) · Mow Cop, Staffordshire
We’re looking for the brave, the fit, the adventurous (and those who just love a fun-run!) to enter The Mow Cop Killer Mile in aid of Caudwell Children.
Organised by the MCRA (Mow Cop Residents Association), the ‘Killer Mile’ is a mile long race up one of the steepest hills in the county! Beginning with a gentle slope for the first quarter, then a steady climb up through the fields in full view of the horrors to come, the truly killer bit is the 1-in-4 gradient section past the Cheshire View pub which is the ¾ mile mark. If you can overcome the temptation of the Cheshire View pub and reach the finish at Mow Cop Castle at the top then you survived the KILLER mile! Always a fun atmosphere, the Killer Mile is a great night attracting lots of local participants giving it a go! Those that braved it last year helped us raise a fantastic amount for the charity and we even had one runner bring home the Bronze medal! On top of that we had some adventurous groups entering, including Trentham RUFC, Stoke Town Ladies FC and Rode Heath scout group. Not to mention local businesses embracing the challenge; Barnes Blinds, City Plumbing and Newcastle Plumbing all managed to scramble to the top for Caudwell Children! And for those who are just out for the fun, a fancy dress climb to the top is always a winner! There are 6 races on the night, ranging from a Junior Fun Run, through to Adults, Veterans and Club Runners (the junior fun run is a shorter course). We hope you can give it a go, whether it’s a personal challenge, part of your fitness training or you just fancy a good laugh for a good cause! Entry costs are £5 for adults and £3 for school years and the closing date for postal entries is 23rd April. For an information pack including your entry and sponsor forms please email laura.muller@caudwellchildren.com or call 01782 600 438.
