There are many reasons why people choose to get involved and volunteer with Caudwell Children:
There is an opportunity for almost everyone to volunteer with Caudwell Children. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and of all ages and cultures. We aim to find a volunteering role to suit each individual. As a children’s charity we are committed to safeguarding children and anybody working with children will be screened including a Criminal Record Disclosure Check.
All volunteers working in our offices or on community projects will receive induction training. All our work with children requires volunteers to undertake training, have regular supervision or contact with your local co-ordinator.
This will depend on what you do. If you don’t have the skills needed, where possible, we’ll help you develop them.
As much as you would like, just one day can make a real change to everyday lives. Volunteering within Caudwell Children is flexible; we will work with your existing commitments to help find a volunteer which fits the time you have available.
No. Volunteering does not affect the benefits payments you receive. Volunteers are not paid for their time but may be entitled to be reimbursed for their travel and other legitimate expenses. People claiming Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) can volunteer as long as they remain available for work and are actively seeking paid employment. People claiming Income Support and/or Disability Living Allowance and Incapacity Benefit can volunteer.
