X Factor star and CBB runner up to perform at boxing event
Amelia Lily, the former X Factor star and runner up in the 2017 Celebrity Big Brother series, is to perform at an exclusive white collar boxing event being held in London.
The 22-year-old singer, stage performer and actress is set to entertain the audience at the Float Like A Butterfly Ball, being staged at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair, London, on 6th October, 2017.
The black tie boxing and entertainment event will raise vital funds Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.
Lily shot to fame on the 2011 series of The X Factor, wowing the judges with her rendition of the classic, Piece of My Heart.
She won the hearts of TV audiences and panellists alike before finally finishing in third place in the X Factor final, which saw Little Mix being named as overall winners of the series.
Following her appearance on the show Lilly secured a £500,000 recording contract with Sony, releasing three singles with the label. Her first song, You Bring Me Joy peaking at number two in the UK Singles Chart.
Kerrie Davies, Head of Events at Caudwell children, is delighted that she will be performing a selection of her hits at the event. As she explained: “Amelia has a fantastic voice and is a superb performer. She’s still very much in the public eye and in the last couple of years she has really built up her theatrical CV.
“She’s starred as The Narrator on the UK tour of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, performed in Shout!, at the Winter Gardens Blackpool, and played Whatshername in the West End production of Green Day’s musical, American Idiot.
“And if that wasn’t enough she’s also just celebrated her return to television by securing the runner up spot in the Channel 5 hit series Celebrity Big Brother.”
The event will feature five bouts, each consisting of two, three minute rounds, and there will also be a celebrity bout on the bill that will be announced shortly.
Steve Collins, the former World Boxing Organisation middleweight and super middleweight World Champion, will referee the bouts.
“It’s going to be a fabulous night,” said Davies. “Ticket holders will enjoy a red carpet event with haute cuisine and celebrity guests. And with other acts to be announced shortly they’ll also experience the best in entertainment.”
Tickets range from £300 up to £1,100 for ringside seats and access to an exclusive after-show party held in the Grosvenor House Hotel’s Red Bar.
All of the money raised from the event will be used to provide practical and emotional support for disabled children across the UK.
