Would you like to help maintain the ground of our charity’s centre so that they look smart and welcoming for families of disabled children who visit to access support?
You could become one of our gardening volunteers!
About Caudwell Children
Caudwell Children aims to change people’s lives, change the way society perceives and treats disabled and autistic people and change the way that charities operate, through the provision of child-centred practical and emotional services, passionate campaigning and demonstrating best practice. We believe in a world where disabled and autistic children have the choice, opportunity, dignity and understanding they deserve #jointhechange and help us in our mission!
Our facilities provide a state-of-the-art base within the grounds of Keele University, Staffordshire, with the option of informal homeworking arrangements (up to 2 days a week from home) after passing probation.
What will you be doing?
- Carry out horticultural tasks for designated gardens to agreed maintenance standards.
- Weeding all areas of the grounds, including our sensory garden and walled Thank You garden
- General maintenance of all garden areas, including pruning shrubs, digging and hoeing.
- Maintaining good access: path maintenance, fallen leaves
- Comply with health and safety guidelines when using tools
What skills would be useful?

How much time are you expected to give and when?
Our Gardening team are on site on Friday mornings. For the role to be mutually beneficial, we hope for volunteers to give 3 to 4 hours a week for 6 months. Volunteering is flexible.
