Darius to host exclusive Cheshire Ladies Lunch
Darius Campbell-Danesh, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician, actor and film producer, is to host and perform at an exclusive charity Ladies Lunch being held in Cheshire.
Darius, 39, will appear at the Cheshire Ladies Lunch at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa on Friday 22nd November, 2019.
The event, organised by Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families, is an exclusive afternoon of fashion, food, beauty and entertainment and is seen as the perfect, early, Christmas party.
Guests enjoy a Champagne reception whilst browsing stalls featuring local and national retailers of luxury goods; including handbags, independent clothing boutiques and beauty products.
Darius rose to fame in 2001 after appearing on the British talent competition Popstars, before he was voted into the finals of the TV talent show, Pop Idol.
His first UK single, Colourblind, entered the UK singles chart at number 1 whilst his debut album, Dive In, charted at number 6. He went on to have five UK Top Ten singles and a second gold album.
Darius is looking forward to appearing at the Ladies Lunch. As he explained: “I’m delighted to be hosting Caudwell Children’s Cheshire Ladies Lunch this year.
“The charity has always been close to my heart as they’re committed to giving disabled children a brighter future by providing the life changing support that they need to lead an active and independent life.
“Raising funds at the Ladies Lunch, will be vital in helping the charity to support even more children.
“I look forward to seeing all you ladies there! Let’s help transform the lives of disabled children together.”
Darius, has also starred in the West End musical Chicago as Billy Flynn, and in the award winning production of Guys and Dolls, as Sky Masterson.
In 2010 he won the ITV’s talent show Popstar to Operastar, in which eight pop stars were trained to perform famous opera arias, before starring in the stage musicals, From Here to Eternity and Funny Girl, in 2013 and 2015.
Kate Sherwin, Events Manager at Caudwell Children, is delighted that Darius is hosting the event. She said: “He’s got a fabulous voice and his stage work has made him a consummate professional in front of a live audience.
“This is our fifth year at the beautiful Mere Golf Resort and Spa, set amidst the stunning Cheshire countryside, and Darius is joining an impressive list of hosts that we’ve had for our Ladies Lunch events up and down the country.
“Last year Will Mellor, the multi-talented actor, singer and model, who rose to fame playing Jambo Bolton in Hollyoaks, on Channel 4, before starring as Gaz Wilkinson, in the irreverent British sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps hosted and performed at our Cheshire Ladies Lunch.”
Tickets include a free glass of Champagne on arrival, a two course gourmet lunch, luxury goody bag and top class entertainment.
Kate says that the ‘Ladies Lunch’ offers a unique shopping and networking experience whilst raising vital funds for disabled children.
“The ‘Ladies Lunch’ will also involve a raffle, auction and silent auction,” she explained. “And with the opulent nature of the event there will be some ‘must-have’ goodies up for grabs.”
Since 2000 Caudwell Children has helped over 45,000 children with services worth £43 million. The charity is unique in that a single major benefactor covers all the administration and management costs so that 100% of ticket sales, and donations, go direct to the children the charity supports.
“Small actions can have a big impact for the children that we work with,” said Kate. “By simply buying a ticket for the Ladies Lunch, from as little as £75, you could provide a short break activity for a disabled child to learn new skills and make new friends.”
