We are looking for a motivated and passionate Children’s Activity Sessional Worker to join our team at Caudwell Children. The main purpose of this role is to plan and implement fun, inspiring and challenging leisure activities for disabled children and young people that build life skills and promote independence, whilst also providing carers with vital short break respite. Activities are supported by funding and grants from local area commissioners and delivered with the assistance of a network of volunteers. The post holder will be expected to plan 3-hour long sessions, and effectively deliver these. You must link session plans to the children’s interests & suggestions, as well as being able to adapt sessions last minute to each individual’s needs.
You will not only build a positive relationship with the children, but also with parents & carers, ensuring they are happy to leave their child with you and the volunteers for the duration of each session.
This post has the potential to cover 8 areas across Staffordshire, these being; Leek, Stafford, East Staffs, Lichfield, Tamworth, Cannock & South Staffs. Commitment to travel across these areas for mainly weekend work is expected, with the occasional evening work.
