Leona Lewis, the British singing sensation who has sold over 20 million records worldwide, is to play this year’s annual Butterfly Ball, the UK’s most exclusive charity event.

Leona, who became the first UK solo artist to debut at Number 1 in the US with her first album, with the release of Spirit in 2007, will join ten-time GRAMMY Award winning legend Chaka Khan to jointly headline the event.

Organised by Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families, the Butterfly Ball receives worldwide media attention and attracts a host of A List celebrity guests.

This year’s Butterfly Ball will be at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Mayfair, on Thursday 13th June, 2019.

Islington born Lewis, who attended the British School for Performing Arts & Technology, reached Number 1 in over 35 countries with her second single Bleeding Love, which resulted in her being nominated for a host of awards including Grammy Awards, Brits, MTV and MOBOs.

As a passionate humanitarian and animal rights activist it’s no surprise that Lewis has agreed to perform at the Butterfly Ball. As she explained: “Charity causes are close to my heart and I’ve worked with a number of organisations including Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, The Prince’s Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust, Sports Relief, HIS, WWF and World Animal protection.

“So I’m delighted that I’ve been given this opportunity to work with a charity that supports disabled children.

“Caudwell Children provide an invaluable service to disabled children and ensure that they have access to the equipment, therapies and treatments they need to lead happy, active an independent lives.

“So I couldn’t be happier to be performing at the Butterfly Ball.”

The Butterfly Ball is Caudwell Children’s flagship fundraising event and it regularly raises in excess of £1.5 million, which enables the charity to provide life-changing support for disabled children and their families.

Kerrie Davies, Associate Director of Events at Caudwell Children, said: “Leona has an incredible voice and I believe that her mezzo-soprano vocal range spans four octaves.

“That’s why she’s such a vocal powerhouse who can move from a silky, sultry, lower register to a sweet falsetto with such ease.

“She’s loved my millions of fans around the world so we’re absolutely delighted that she will be performing at the Butterfly Ball this year.”

The exclusive, high quality nature of the Butterfly Ball makes it the perfect event to entertain clients, network, reward valued members of staff, or simply enjoy a special night out with friends or family.
