Stars from the world of television, reality TV and music came out on Friday 22rd November, 2019, to attend a glamorous charity ‘Ladies Lunch’ in Cheshire that raised vital funds for disabled children.

Darius Campbell, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician, actor and film producer, hosted and performed at the exclusive Cheshire ‘Ladies Lunch’ which was held at the Mere Golf Resort & Spa, in Knutsford.

The event raised over £13,000 for Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.

Darius, rose to fame in 2001 after appearing on the British talent competition Popstars, before going on to be voted into the finals of the TV talent show, Pop Idol.

Funds raised through the afternoon will help Caudwell Children to continue providing specialist equipment, activity days, and in-home and in-hospital support to disabled children throughout the UK.

Angela Norton, from Macclesfield, who’s two sons, Caymen and Reims,  have been supported by Caudwell Children, attended the event with her 18-year-old son Harry.

They both addressed the audience and told them how the charity had supported the family. As Angela explained: “I loved attending the event and I enjoyed telling the audience how Caudwell Children had provided the boys with a walking frame and a specialist car seat.

“They also took the family on a once in a lifetime holiday to Disneyland, in Florida, so I can’t thank them enough for their invaluable support.

“Hopefully, what Harry and I had to say about Caudwell Children may have had a positive impact on the money raised throughout the afternoon.”

Darius was delighted to have hosted the event. He said: “Caudwell Children’s services are vital in supporting disabled children.

“Without their help parents like Angela simply wouldn’t be able to afford the specialist equipment that they need for their children to lead happy, active and independent lives.

“I really enjoyed the afternoon and l can’t thank those who attended enough form giving so generously and making it such a successful event.”

Kerrie Davies, Associate Director of Events, at Caudwell children, was pleased with the success of the ‘Ladies Lunch’. As she explained: “We’ve had fantastic support from our sponsors, supporters and ticket holders.

“Without their help our wonderful Cheshire ‘Ladies Lunch’ wouldn’t have happened.

“Darius is such a charming performer and he loved having a bit of flirty banter with the ladies.

“He’s an accomplished singer and it’s no surprise that he had so much success both on and off the stage.

“The ladies loved his silky, smooth, crooning and it was beautifully matched by his relaxed delivery.

“He had the ladies in the palm of his hand and he helped us to raise a significant amount which will enable us to support even more disabled children in Cheshire.”

The Caudwell Children Ladies Lunch is a series of exclusive afternoons of fashion, food, beauty and entertainment where guests enjoy champagne whilst browsing stalls featuring local and national retailers of luxury goods; including handbags, independent clothing boutiques and beauty products.

Guests also enjoyed a three-course lunch, raffle, auction and silent auction that contained a number of ‘must have’ luxurious prizes including a 5-star luxury holiday to Majorca.
