The hunt is on to find a mystery ticket holder who won a pair of crystal and diamond statement earrings, worth a cool £16,500, at a charity ball last week.

Guests at Caudwell Children’s, Float Like A Butterfly Ball white collar boxing event, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in Mayfair, on Friday, were treated to an evening of haute cuisine and top class entertainment from MOBO Award winning artist Alesha Dixon.

The exclusive event, attended by a host of celebrity guests including Melinda Messenger, Tito Jackson, boxing legend Steve Collins and Eastenders actor Jamie Borthwick, raised over £160,000 for Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.

The charity coffers were boosted by a ‘must have’ auction and a tempting raffle prize of a set of Beau Han Xu signature ‘Splash Collection’ statement earrings.

But when the draw was made for the intricately crafted jewellery, described by critics as pieces of ‘art’ in their own right, nobody came forward to claim the fabulous prize.

“We’re desperately trying to find the lucky winner,” said Laura Pickett, from Caudwell Children. “Who wouldn’t want this unique, hand crafted, set. They’re utterly stunning and we simply have to trace the new owner.

“All they have to do is come forward and provide us with the winning ticket, numbered 0439, and the dazzling prize is all theirs.”

Many of those who attended the event, delivered in partnership with Ewing Law, a Westminster based law firm, came at the invitation of a number of businesses who supported the ball. As a result the charity has been unable to contact many guests directly.

“With over 700 guests having attended the event it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack,” explained Laura. “We’re hoping that, through social media, we may be able to attract the attention of the mystery winner so that they can retrieve their fantastic prize.

“But we’re also looking to the media to help us identify the lucky winner by covering the story.”

Beau Han Xu, a graduate of the internationally renowned Royal College of Art, is a rising star in the world of jewellery design, fusing the disciplines of artist, gemmologists and jeweller.

His unique, metal-les technique transcends the constraints of traditional stone setting, marrying the art of finely crafted, hand blown glass and traditional stones to create an exquisite jewellery collection.
