We provide disabled children with the vital equipment they need
Powered wheelchairs can give a disabled child or young person the mobility and freedom they need to reach their full potential.
Providing mobility and independence, the right powered wheelchair can enable someone with a disability access to places and situations which they would otherwise be excluded from.
For someone who would otherwise be dependent on others, being able to do things for themselves can be life changing.
Your donation towards our Powered Wheelchair Appeal will provide the necessary equipment and support to change a child’s life. Please help us raise £60,000 to provide 10 disabled children with a powered wheelchair.

Sam's story
In 2020, Caudwell Children provided Sam with a life changing powered wheelchair and is now enjoying the new-found independence the equipment is giving him.
Sam was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) a rare, genetically inherited neuromuscular condition. Sam felt trapped in his normal wheelchair and craved some independence.
With the progressive loss of muscle strength. a powered wheelchair can provide invaluable support for children with SMA; enabling increased independent mobility, comfort and postural support.
Alongside, the significant health benefits, Sam is able to participate in school subjects like cookery, science, design and technology.

Edward's story
In 2019, Caudwell Children provided Edward with a life changing sports wheelchair that is helping him to fulfil his sporting dreams. Edward, a 17-year-old boy from Great Yarmouth with Spinal muscular atrophy type 2, became a wheelchair user at the age of nine. Since being introduced to wheelchair football by his mother, Edward has gone onto become the regular goalkeeper for Norwich City Powerchair football Club. Providing Edward with his very own, state-of-the-art, powered sports wheelchair, has allowed him to compete at the national league and win the Muscular Dystrophy UK Championship.
