Caudwell Children are proud to deliver Short break activities for young people and their families in partnerships with Staffordshire County Council Aiming High for any child with a disability who lives in Staffordshire aged 8-18.

The Purple Explorers activity clubs are based on encouraging curiosity and exploration of their world.

Our Short Breaks are unique in that all Children will be offered the opportunity to sign up to ASDAN so that they can achieve ASDAN awards whilst they have fun and develop friendships.

Before you attend your first Short Break

What to expect when you sign up through Aiming High to receive support from us.

1) We will contact you to complete an initial assessment to check that we have a good understanding of your child’s needs. We will ask you for a copy of your child’s EHC Plan as well so that we can see how we can support your child to achieve their outcomes.

We will ask you for information about things that are really important to your child and what best support looks like and we will develop a short one page profile with you that we will be able to share with our staff and volunteers. This will ensure that your child is receiving a person centred approach to their support whilst they are at the short break.

2) We will contact you after 6 months and review the information we have about your child and we will check to see if we are helping your child to meet their outcomes.

3) After 12 months, we will do a more detailed review with you to see how the last 12 months have gone and we will work with you and your child to develop new outcomes or continue to work on the same ones.
