Stars raise funds for children at luxurious ‘Ladies Lunch’
Stars from the world of television, reality TV and music came out on Friday 23rd November, 2018, to attend a glamorous charity ‘Ladies Lunch’ in Cheshire that raised vital funds for disabled children.
Will Mellor, the multi-talented actor, singer and model, who has been appearing regularly on British TV screens for the last 28 years, hosted and performed at the exclusive Cheshire ‘Ladies Lunch’ sponsored by Zedra, which was held at the Mere Golf Resort & Spa, in Knutsford.
The event raised £19,000 for Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.
Will, who rose to fame playing Jambo Bolton in Hollyoaks, on Channel 4, before starring as Gaz Wilkinson in the irreverent British sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, was joined at the event by James Hill who starred in The Apprentice and Real Housewives of Cheshire star Rachel Lugo.
Funds raised through the afternoon will help Caudwell Children to continue providing specialist equipment, activity days, in-home and in-hospital support and family holidays, to disabled children throughout the UK.
11-year-old George Bould, from Wetley Rocks, in Staffordshire, attended the event with his parents and they spoke passionately to the audience about how the charity had supported them.
Kerrie Davies, Associate Director of Events, at Caudwell children, was delighted with the success of the ‘Ladies Lunch’. As she explained: “We’ve had fantastic support from our sponsors Zedra, an independent global specialist in trust, corporate and fund services.
“Without their help our wonderful Cheshire ‘Ladies Lunch’ wouldn’t have happened.
“Will is such a charming performer and he loved having a bit of flirty banter with the ladies.
“He’s an accomplished singer and it’s no surprise that he had a number 5 hit in the UK with a cover of Leo Sayer’s When I need You.
“The ladies loved his silky, smooth, crooning and it was beautifully matched by his relaxed delivery.
“He had the ladies in the palm of his hand and he helped us to raise a significant amount which will enable us to support even more disabled children in Cheshire.”
The Caudwell Children Ladies Lunch is a series of exclusive afternoons of fashion, food, beauty and entertainment where guests enjoy champagne whilst browsing stalls featuring local and national retailers of luxury goods; including handbags, independent clothing boutiques and beauty products.
