Tanesha – Congenital Heart Disease – Specialist Pushchair
Tanesha has congenital heart disease, which means she tires easily. She has had a pacemaker fitted but she still has daily leg pains and is unable to walk very far. Tanesha’s mother, Amanda said that Tanesha had outgrown her old pushchair and she feared her daughter would become isolated. “The old pushchair had become unsafe. It was uncomfortable and had become impossible to use, but it was the only way I could get Tanesha outdoors. I was desperate to her her a new pushchair but the one that best suited her needs cost an eye watering £480.”
Despite her condition, Tanesha is an active girl who enjoys playing football with her friends. She loves being out in the fresh air and although she can’t play for long, she really enjoys kicking the ball around. As it became harder to use her pushchair, Tanesha found it incresingly difficult to get to the football pitch and began playing more and more video games.
Thanks to Caudwell Children, Tanesha has now received a specialist, lightwight, pushchair that will allow her to get out the house and enjoy time with her monther and friends.
Amanda says that the equipment has not only helped her daughter but also had a positive imoact on her. She said: “It’s been absolutely brilliant! I have to say it’s been a godsend during the summer holidays and has allowed us to get out and enjoy long summer days.”
