Venue needed for outdoor charity film screening
A Staffordshire based charity is urgently looking for a venue to host two open air film screenings that could raise vital funds for disabled children in the county.
Caudwell Children, the national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families, with the support of UK Eventures, a company that specialise in outdoor, open air and pop up films, were set to run the charity screenings in Stoke-on-Trent on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st September.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the venue partner had to cancel the booking leaving the charity in need of a new venue for the screenings.
“This is a fantastic fundraising initiative,” exclaimed Vicky Glanville, from Caudwell Children. “UK Eventures has agreed to supply the charity with a large outdoor screen, along with the best furniture, equipment, and services to ensure ticket holders have an unforgettable experience.
“However, because of the amount of work that they have on they can only supply us with the free kit on those specific days, and we don’t want to miss the chance of using their facilities to raise much needed funds for disabled children in the region.”
Vicky says the charity is now desperately seeking a new venue partner and she’s urging appropriate businesses to get in touch. As she explained: “It could be a cricket, rugby or golf club, or a leisure centre with an outdoor area, or a local football club.
“If they can give us the space for free we’re happy for them to run their bar or kitchen to generate revenue for themselves, we just don’t want to miss this opportunity of boosting our charity coffers.”
Outdoor cinema shows are one of the UK’s fastest growing events with thousands of people looking for outdoor screenings.
“Throughout spring and summer the open air shows are increasingly popular,” explained Vicky. “And UK Eventures 8 metre inflatable screen is capable of screenings for up to 600 people, it’s easily the best product for large outdoor cinema events.”
Vicky says the film choice will depend on the venue. As she concluded: “The original venue was more suitable for a family friendly film but we appreciate that we may have to change this to a more adult orientated film, depending on what kind of venue offers their support.”
If a suitable partner can be found it’s planned that tickets will be priced £10 for children, £15 for adults and £25 for VIP tickets.
