On Friday 22nd March 2024 at the magnificent Dairy at Waddesdon, Caudwell Children supporters crossed the threshold into an electrifying new world, The Butterfly Ball at Fantasia 3, where fantasy met philanthropy, making this Caudwell Children’s most ambitious gala up to date.
In collaboration with visionary floral artist and event designer Amie Bone, the event raised a staggering £1,221,123 where every penny will go towards changing the lives of disabled and autistic children across the UK.
A Mythical Journey
Guests arrived at The Dairy for an unforgettable immersive and sensory experience, an evening of storytelling and life-changing fundraising, which centred around the theme of Greek Mythology. Attendees enjoyed their “journey” through the Butterfly Ball at Fantasia 3 and were welcomed with drinks on arrival before entering the “heavens” where they were greeted by a colossal Pegasus and angelic choir, all dressed in white, before heading into the ballroom. The experience also took guests down to the underworld for the After Show Party.
Amie Bone said: “We appreciate everyone who joined us tonight to experience another world, enabling us to make a change in the lives of disabled and autistic children.
“Sometimes you’ve got to create something you want to be a part of. The skill and commitment to the cause is apparent and we are proud to share our event in the hopes of raising millions of pounds to assist children in their everyday lives.”
Caudwell Children pride themselves on their efficiency and transparency and thanks to Founder and long-life supporter, John Caudwell, the charity can evidence a philanthropic return on donations that are unrivalled by any other charity.
For every £1 donated to Caudwell Children, the charity delivers up to £2.14 worth of services to support families caring for a disabled child or young person.

Events like this, provide opportunity for individuals who share the same philanthropic views to come together and ignite change collectively, as a force for good.
“Our partnership with Amie Bone and worldclass event specialists has allowed us to take The Butterfly Ball to a whole new level, and this marks the beginning of a new journey for Caudwell Children; one of growth, possibility and life-changing philanthropy.”
Philanthropists, esteemed members of John Caudwell’s Life-Changers Circle and celebrity supporters including Christine McGuinness, Junior Andre, Chris Robshaw and Mariano Vivanco were among the guests.
Also in attendance were Caudwell Children beneficiaries Dylan Kelsall aged 21 and Sophie Stubbenhagen aged 17, both of which were provided funding towards life-changing powered wheelchairs.
Dylan said: “It was an extraordinary evening, where hearts united to raise over an astounding £1.2 million. As a former beneficiary of Caudwell Children’s support, I’ve witnessed the profound difference it makes in the lives of disabled children. Every contribution, every act of kindness, is a testament to the power of compassion and solidarity.”
