Caudwell Children will be hosting a range of Christmas activities aimed at autistic children and children with a disability to keep them entertained over the festive break.

The children’s charity has proudly announced that they will be partnering with Odd Socks Entertainment this December, to bring Snow White the pantomime, to children with a disability across the Staffordshire area.

Trudi Beswick CEO of Caudwell Children said “We are delighted to be partnering with Odd Socks Entertainment, coming along to pantos are a Christmas tradition for many families. The shows can be enjoyed by everyone, so this was something we really wanted to do.”

Odd Socks Entertainment said “Odd Socks are so pleased to be partnering with Caudwell Children for our fourth year of pantomimes. We absolutely love performing for all of the families and can’t wait for everyone to see this year’s panto, we think it might be the best one yet.”

Come and join Snow White and her friends as they try and stop the Evil Queen and her dastardly plan.

The available pantomime dates in December are:

Monday 12th December, 7PM – 9PM at Queen Street Community Centre, Queen Street, Burton-upon-Trent, DE14 3LW.

Tuesday 20th December, 7PM – 9PM at Caudwell International Children’s Centre, Innovation Way, Keele, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 5NT.

Wednesday 21st December, 7PM – 9PM at Whittington Village Hall, Whittington, Lichfield, WS14 9LR.

Snow White is a relaxed performance and is free for families to attend as long as their child is aged 8-18 years old, has a registered disability and lives in Staffordshire.

During the school break, Caudwell Children will also be running the Winter Holiday Activities and food programme for children aged 8-18 years old. This gives children the opportunity to have fun over the Christmas break by taking part in festive-themed activities and making new friends all while receiving a hot meal.

Some of the activities that children can get involved in are, bauble making, pass the parcel, writing letters to Santa and sleigh building.

The HAF programme launched in 2018 as a pilot scheme providing support to children who needed free school meals through the holiday period. Following the successful pilots between 2018 and 2020, the programme was rolled out to all upper local authorities in 2021.

The sessions are free to attend at the Caudwell International Children’s Centre at Keele, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 5NT, as long as the child is aged 8-18 years old, has a registered disability, lives in the Staffordshire area, are eligible for free school meals and have a HAF code.

The available dates in December are:

Monday 19th December, 9.30AM – 3PM.

Wednesday 21st December, 9.30AM – 3PM.

Thursday 22nd December, 9.30AM – 3PM.
