Esmae is a bright and joyful six-year-old with a love for Peppa pig, the colour pink and spending time with her family. She’s also autistic, has Phelan-McDermid Syndrome and severe learning disabilities, which can make getting out challenging.
For Esmae’s parents, simply leaving the house could feel overwhelming, as they found getting her out safely a challenge and Esmae would tire quickly.
Desperate to give their daughter more freedom and comfort, Esmae’s family turned to Caudwell Children for help. With our support, they received funding for a specialised buggy tailored to Esmae’s needs.
Esmae’s mum, Sophie shared: “Esmae’s buggy has been life-changing, we wouldn’t have been able to afford this without the help from Caudwell Children. It’s perfect for her needs and we are now able to do more family days out with ease. Esmae enjoys going for long walks as she is well supported and the added bonus is that the buggy is pink!”
