Nevaeh, it’s YOUR Time to Shine

We’ve had some fantastic entries for Caudwell Children’s Time to Shine competition, and we are excited to introduce you to another, the extremely talented Nevaeh!

Nevaeh is a creative 15-year-old singer who absolutely loves to perform. She is autistic, epileptic and dyslexic but this doesn’t define or stop her from following her dreams, creating her own songs which have personal meanings.

“Performing is my happy place – I feel safe and untouchable on stage!” Nevaeh shared. “I’ve written some of my own songs that touch on subject matters relating to how I feel and how I’m seen and treated as an autistic person.”

One of Nevaeh’s songs ‘Inside and Out’ was written to show her determination to achieve her dreams, and her ability to rise above those who judged and mocked her for being different.

The track has received some great feedback and Nevaeh hopes that it helps young autistic people to believe in themselves, giving them the drive and enthusiasm to go forward with their dreams.

She has gone on to write another song called ‘Get Gone’ which continues to support her important message of celebrating the confidence it takes to be proud of who you are, no matter how others respond.

Does your disabled and/or neurodivergent child have a talent waiting to shine? If they’re aged 6-16, we’d love to feature them as part of our ‘Time to Shine’ campaign!
