As Caudwell Children’s Time to Shine competition continues, we are thrilled to introduce you to another one of our fabulous Time to Shine stars, Roxie!
At just 9 years old, Roxie is already making waves as an autistic artist with a vibrant imagination. Roxie takes enormous pride in her work, especially in one of her favourite pieces – a colourful highland cow, that she created last year.
Roxie was diagnosed with autism at the Caudwell International Children’s Centre, and since then, she’s truly thrived. With a deeper understanding of who she is, Roxie has embraced her identity and her passion for art like never before.
“Roxie has a huge passion for drawing; she draws every day! It’s such an achievement for her to finally be able to take joy in her own artwork because of her self-critical thinking that things needed to be “perfect”. Now, she understands that her artwork is unique and it doesn’t matter that her colouring may not be in the lines, or if a mistake is made.” – Roxie’s Mum.
